With the 2015 legislative session approaching, Texas lawmakers are expected to take action on the issue of school choice and access to scholarship-like vouchers. While the majority of House and Senate members are expected to vote in favor of school choice legislation, experts like Kevin Welner of the National Education Policy Center at the University of Colorado are warning against a lack of evidence to support the efficacy of such programs and the potential harm to economically disadvantaged schools.
