Lt. Gov.-elect Dan Patrick has added two Capitol veterans well versed in state finances and legislative procedure — Mike Morrissey and Walter Fisher — to his staff for the upcoming legislative session.

Morrissey, a fiscal policy expert who has worked for Gov. Rick Perry since 2001, will serve as Patrick’s budget director. Fisher, a lobbyist with 20 years combined experience as parliamentarian in the House and Senate, will be a senior advisor. Patrick previously announced that his longtime Senate aide Logan Spence, who served as his campaign manager, will become his chief of staff.

“Collectively, they bring over 60 years of experience in Texas government that will allow me to achieve an ambitious conservative agenda,” Patrick said in a statement Thursday.
