In Ad, Abbott Talks of Rio Grande Valley’s Potential

In his latest web ad, Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott touts the Rio Grande Valley's potential for growth and improvement.

The upbeat ad, released Thursday, says the area could benefit from new state leadership that is more in line with the region’s “Texas values.”

“What we are seeing now is a newfound energy in the Rio Grande Valley,” Abbott says in the ad. “There is probably no region in the state of Texas that is poised for greater advancement.”

In a press release, the campaign said that reaching out to voters in the Rio Grande Valley is a priority. Abbott timed the ad around his Thursday visit to Brownsville, which is his 15th trip to the Rio Grande Valley during the campaign.
