Texas Parent PAC Backs Democrat Ballweg in HD-94 Race
Democrat Cole Ballweg on Monday received the endorsement of Texas Parent PAC in his bid to win the open seat for House District 94 in Tarrant County.
"Families deserve a state representative of Cole Ballweg's caliber," said Ellen Jones of Euless, a Texas Parent PAC board member, in a statement. "He is intelligent and personable, with a track record of effective leadership in business and the community. With his high-energy collaborative personality, Cole will be a respected leader at the Capitol who will work tirelessly to solve the state's problems and strengthen public education."
Ballweg is running against GOP candidate Tony Tinderholt, who knocked off incumbent Diane Patrick in the GOP primary to win the nomination.
Texas Parent PAC, which was created in 2005 with the goal of helping elect more public education-oriented lawmakers, endorsed Patrick in her successful 2006 primary challenge to Public Education Chairman Kent Grusendorf. This cycle, Texas Parent PAC has also endorsed the Democratic candidate in Senate District 10, Libby Willis.
HD-94 is located almost entirely within SD-10.
