White House Initiative Seeks Brighter Future for Young Men of Color

During a speech at the University of Texas at Austin, Marco Davis of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics urged young Texas men of color to become agents of change in their communities. Early education, family engagement and high-quality teachers are the keys to a brighter future for a population beset by high dropout rates, poverty and crime, he said. (Austin American-Statesman)
