Federal STEM Initiative Falters, but There's Hope on the Local Level
Despite federal efforts to improve student enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and math fields, results have been spotty. President Obama’s National Lab Network initiative has gradually lost steam since it was established in 2009, but other nonprofit organizations and private-public partnerships around the country have sprung up in its wake to advance the importance of science education.
