Event: Texas Water Safari
What: The Texas Water Safari, known as the world's toughest canoe race
Who: Teams of canoers come to the race from all over the country.
Where: The race begins at Spring Lake, the headwaters of the San Marcos River, and continues 260 miles down the San Marcos to the town of Seadrift on the Gulf Coast.
When: The race begins at 8 a.m. on June 14, and the competitors have four days and four hours to complete the course.
