According to the latest crop report from a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert, crop conditions vary around the state, with the upper Gulf Coast and Central and North Texas beginning the year in better shape moisture-wise than the High Plains. However, almost all the grain-producing areas of the state are at some level of drought, and the area of the state in at least moderate drought has increased to almost 75 percent over the past three months.
