The College Board recently announced a sweeping overhaul of the SAT exam, but it wasn’t until mid-April that specific changes were outlined. In addition to jettisoning the controversial essay, the new test will emphasize analytical and comprehension skills rather than a demonstration of test-taking skills. Although there are still critics of the test in general, the board claims that the new approach will have more validity in measuring student skills. (Inside Higher Ed)
