Two weeks ahead of the start of early voting in the SD-4 special election, Gordy Bunch has gone up on the air with his first ad, "Change Austin." Bunch is alone among the four-candidate field in not having served in Austin before. In his ad, he plays up his outsider status along with a quick biographical sketch highlighting his time in the U.S. Coast Guard and as a director of The Woodlands Township. The Senate seat is open after the October resignation of Tommy Williams, R-The Woodlands.
