Bravo Basin and Colorado Included on Most-Stressed Rivers List
New Mexico's Bravo Basin, which includes both the Rio Grande and Pecos Rivers, had the dubious distinction of being one of only two river systems in North America listed as among the world's most-stressed by the World Resources Institute, with the Colorado River being the other. The report, which can be viewed here, used data on global water usage, including such factors as human activities and rates of natural replenishment, in determining the list. (Carlsbad Current-Argus)
