New Funding Source for Aquatic Center
The San Marcos Aquatic Resource Center, a "refugia" that houses rare and endangered species that live in the Edwards Aquifer and the Comal and San Marcos springs and rivers, will begin receiving financial support next year from the Edwards Aquifer Authority. The San Antonio Express-News reports that with the new funding, the center, which has been supported by the federal government for its operating budget, will be able to expand its efforts to research and preserve the species found in the aquifer.
