Del Rio Mayor Vows to Fight Proposed Water Line
The mayor of Del Rio has vowed to fight a proposed plan to pipe water from Val Verde County to San Antonio, according to a report in the San Antonio Express-News. The plan would transfer billions of gallons of water to San Antonio to reduce the city's reliance on the Edwards Aquifer. Mayor Roberto Fernandez told San Antonio Water System trustees that the city would do "everything possible" to protect the region's San Felipe springs.
