This year, The Texas Tribune Festival is launching separate tracks for energy and environment topics. That means you'll have twice the opportunities to hear from government and industry leaders on matters relating to natural resources and powering Texas.

Join us Sept. 27-29 for a weekend of debate, discussion and dialogue on climate change, state parks, the shale boom and more.

For our panel discussion Regulating Energy, we have recruited Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick and 2014 commissioner candidates Malachi Boyuls and Stefani Carter to discuss energy solutions for Texas. Our session on The Fight Over Electricity will feature Public Utility Commission Chairwoman Donna Nelson, former Public Utility Commission Chairwoman Becky Klein and Exelon Senior Vice President Joe Dominguez.

The Festival's After West session will address the aftermath of the town's fertilizer plant explosion. U.S. Rep. Bill Flores and West Mayor Tommy Muska will join us to discuss the town's recovery, plant regulations and the environmental impact of the explosion.

Water: What Now? will be an excellent opportunity to learn about Texas' dwindling water supply from elected officials and environmental organizations, including state Sen. and comptroller candidate Glenn Hegar, House Natural Resources Committee Vice Chairman Eric Johnson, Environmental Quality Commissioner Carlos Rubinstein and Laura Huffman, the state director of the Nature Conservancy.
