State Rep. Sylvester Turner, D-Houston, has served in the Texas House since 1989. This session, he served as a key player on negotiations over the budget. He has run for mayor of Houston twice and has not ruled out a third run in the future.

Here's a look back at Turner's 24 years in the Texas Legislature.
