The 30-second spot features Shelton's mother and high school band teacher and contrasts with the campaign's earlier ads that focused on criticizing his SD-10 opponent, Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth.
The ad will start airing on broadcast networks in North Texas starting Wednesday, according to his campaign.
