After officially launching his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination on Saturday, Gov. Rick Perry headed to Iowa, which holds the nation's first caucus early next year, and dived into retail politics: a visit to the State Fair, a speech in Waterloo (just ahead of rival Rep. Michelle Bachmann), lots of handshaking and many media interviews. The Tribune compiled a slide show of images of the governor's visit.
