Colbert's Super PAC Urges Iowans to Vote "Parry"

Many well-funded Super PACs are gathering money to support Texas Gov. Rick Perry as a write-in candidate in the upcoming Iowa Straw Poll. Only Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert's Super PAC is urging them to vote for "Rick Parry."

As Colbert says in the PAC's first ad, just released today, "That’s Parry with an ‘A’ for America — with an ‘A’ for Iowa."

On his show, The Colbert Report, the comedian has already warned other Perry-friendly super PACs, like GrowPAC and Jobs for Iowa PAC (both name-dropped in the new ad), to "back off" because he'd already "called shotgun" on the Perry bandwagon.

The ad clarifies this message a bit, telling Iowans, "We want you to vote for Rick Perry, too, but not their Rick Perry — our Rick Parry."
