T-Squared: Trib Edition of QRANK Now on iPhones

Good news for the growing number of people playing the Trib edition of QRANK on our site: You can now take your obsession with you wherever you go.

Staring today, thanks to an update pushed by QRANK's creators at Austin-based Ricochet Labs, QRANK:TT has been incorporated into the extremely popular QRANK iPhone app, available at your friendly neighborhood Apple app store. When you launch it and click play, you're now prompted to choose among the daily QRANK game, a sports-themed QRANK game and — affirming our status as QRANK's first-ever media channel — QRANK:TT. When you play, your scores are aggregated into the leaderboard on our site, just as they are when you play on the site itself, making you eligible for our monthly prizes. And although you can still only play QRANK:TT once a day, you're still able to play the other QRANK games once a day as well. Think of the time-wasting possibilities!

The only hitch: QRANK is location-enabled, so you have to be in Texas — physically — for the TT edition to show up on your iPhone. In this instance, at least, that whole "state of mind" thing is a non-starter.

In all seriousness, this is super cool. We continue to be blown away by Ricochet's gaming platform, and we have even higher hopes for advancing the cause of news literacy in Texas. Time to get QRANKing...
