Fishing in Fatigues: The Texas Guard in Afghanistan

U.S. soldiers are taking on the Taliban off the battlefield as well. Members of the Texas National Guard’s Agribusiness Development Team — or ADT — are trying to win the trust of Afghan civilians by helping them build a sustainable agricultural economy.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is in Afghanistan this week… talking strategy with Afghan president Hamid Karzai.  NATO is preparing a major offensive on the Taliban-riddled city of Kandahar as early as this summer.
