Kinky Friedman has rejected Tom Schieffer's calls for all Democratic gubernatorial candidates to line up behind possible contender Bill White.

Kinky Friedman today rejected Tom Schieffer's calls for all Democratic gubernatorial candidates to line up behind possible contender Bill White.

Friedman said if the Houston Mayor does get in the race, it "doesn't change anything" for him. He also said White has "spent his whole life avoiding Kay Bailey Hutchison ... and that doesn't command a whole lot of admiration."

This appears to be a reference to White considering a run for Senate when KBH entered the governor's race, and now possibly considering a run for governor when KBH has pushed back her Senate departure date.

Hutchison is still in the governor's race, though, so White isn't exactly going to be able to avoid her.
