Dan Flynn is the representative of Texas’ House District 2, first elected in 2003. The district includes Hunt, Raines and Van Zandt counties.
Flynn is serving at the chair of the Pensions Committee and as a member of the Investments & Financial Services, the Emerging Issues In Texas Law Enforcement and the Investments & Financial Services and Subcommittee on Bond Indebtedness.
He previously served as vice chair of the Border and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and vice chair of the House Financial Institutions Committee on the State Affairs Committee.
Flynn is an active member of both the National Conference of State Legislators as well as the American Legislative Exchange Council. He served as chairman of the their Military and Veterans Affairs Task Force as well as additional committees and Task Forces domestic and international, and a past Vice Chair of the NCSL Standing Committees. He was appointed to the ALEC Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development Task Force.
Flynn is a Former Deputy Banking Commissioner for the State of Texas and worked as a consultant in the financial and banking industries in Texas, nationally, and internationally. He served as County Judge of Van Zandt County.
Flynn is a graduate of McCallum High School in Austin, he currently works as a businessman and rancher. Flynn lives with his wife Susan in Van, Texas, where they are active members of the Church of the Nazarene. A proud father of three, grandfather of five and recently a very proud great grandfather.
