In a robocall to potential Democratic voters, state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte — the only Democrat running for lieutenant governor this year — asks voters to nominate Hugh Fitzsimons, whom she refers to as “the only real Democrat in this race,” as agriculture commissioner. And she takes a swipe at the most famous name in that race, too: “It would be no laughing matter to let comedian Kinky Friedman win a spot on the ballot with Wendy Davis and me in the fall.”
