The Texas Tech University System includes Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Angelo State University. 

The system is governed by a board of regents, which is composed of nine members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature. The board members serve six-year, staggered terms. The board appoints a chancellor to serve as the chief executive officer of the system. 

Kent Hance is the third and current chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.
