The chancellors of Texas’s top university systems defended their ambitious expansion plans to lawmakers Wednesday and some pushed back against the idea of more oversight of their growth.

To What Degree Should Regents Get Involved?

Texas law isn't specific about how Texas public university system regents should do their jobs. So regents are largely left to interpret their roles themselves. With some taking a more hands-on approach, a growing circle of people has debated whether there should be more clarification on what regents can do.

Texas A&M Dean, on Leave, Arrested in Hit-and-Run

According to news reports, former U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker, on leave from his position as dean of Texas A&M University's Bush School of Government and Public Service, is facing charges for drunken driving and a hit and run incident in Spokane, Washington.

As UT, A&M Regents Meet, Governor Eyes Tuition
