The fate of University of Texas at Austin President Bill Powers continued to draw the attention of lawmakers on Monday while a new statement from UT System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa made explicit the breakdown in the working relationship between the two men.

Transparency Committee Looks to UT System to Take Action

After voting on Monday that grounds exist to impeach one of the regents of the University of Texas System, members of a legislative committee say they hope to see a proactive response from UT's board of regents, which meets this week.

Panel Votes That Grounds for Impeachment Exist for Hall

UPDATED: The House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations voted Monday that there are grounds to impeach University of Texas System Regent Wallace Hall.

The Brief: Patrick Pulls Out of Lite Guv Debate

What was originally planned as the first head-to-head encounter of the Republican runoff race for lite guv will now be a solo appearance by David Dewhurst. His opponent, Dan Patrick, announced late Monday afternoon that he was withdrawing from the debate.
