University of Texas System regents moved quickly Monday to keep two lawmakers from sitting in on interviews conducted by an external investigator into admissions procedures at the system's flagship Austin campus.

Lawmakers Seek to Sit In on Investigation of UT-Austin

State Reps. Trey Martinez Fischer and Lyle Larson say they intend to attend all interviews conducted during an external investigation of UT-Austin's admissions process. It's not clear yet whether they'll be allowed.

Transparency Committee Looks to UT System to Take Action

After voting on Monday that grounds exist to impeach one of the regents of the University of Texas System, members of a legislative committee say they hope to see a proactive response from UT's board of regents, which meets this week.

UPDATED: The House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations voted Monday that there are grounds to impeach University of Texas System Regent Wallace Hall.
