Hispanic House Republicans Endorse Perry for President

The members of the Hispanic Republican Conference today endorsed Gov. Rick Perry for president in 2012.
Perry's not running and has repeatedly said he's not interested, but state Rep. Aaron Peña, the Edinburg Republican who chairs the conference, said he hopes the group's support might change the governor's mind.
"Rick Perry has been good for Texas and the members of the Conference join many across the state and the country who think he would be great for the nation," Peña said. The conference is a 33-member group of Texas lawmakers who represent large Hispanic districts.
Perry spokesman Mark Miner said the group's endorsement is flattering but that "the governor remains focused on the final days of the session and has no intention of running for president."
