Researcher conducting survey on groundwater issues

A researcher at Texas State University is requesting input for a study assessing public perceptions of groundwater and groundwater management.

The Rio Grande has been the lifeblood of the valleys and civilizations it flowed through for more than 3,000 years. As cities and farms suck it dry and a warming climate makes it evaporate faster, the river's future has never been more uncertain.

A researcher at Texas State University is requesting input for a study assessing public perceptions of groundwater and groundwater management. Joni Charles, an associate professor of economics at the university, says the long-term future of groundwater depends on residents of watersheds and their perceptions, knowledge and actions taken to protect their groundwater.
