An update on the public input process on Prop 6, the state constitutional amendment creating a new state water fund to carry out water projects in the state water plan, has been issued by the Texas Living Waters Project, which is a joint effort of the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, the National Wildlife Federation and the Galveston Bay Foundation. According to the progress report, public input in stakeholder meetings during January, February and March included recommendations by individuals and environmental groups on conservation practices and the use of clean energy in carrying out the new State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT). Citizens can still comment informally on SWIFT via the Texas Water Development Board's website.
