A new study published in the Texas Water Journal examines the long-term economic impact of managing declining groundwater resources in the state's Panhandle region. The researchers evaluated the option of applying water allocation and water-use restrictions over a multiyear period. While restrictions led to less water use, the policy also resulted in a decline in net value per acre, implying a potential impact to the region's economy.
