About 13 percent of students nationwide miss more than 15 days of school per year. While the statistic may seem like a passing score, 13 percent translates to 6.5 million students who are not receiving adequate amounts of class time, putting them at risk for negative outcomes like failing or dropping out of school altogether. To comply with new federal guidelines, districts and schools are tackling the problem in a myriad of creative ways. (Christian Science Monitor)
