Interactive: 1st-Quarter Congressional Campaign Filings

On Monday, federal politicians were expected to file with the Federal Election Commission their first campaign finance reports of 2013, covering all activity between Jan. 1 and March 31. We have collected the contribution, expenditure, cash-on-hand and debt totals for each of Texas' 36 congressional members. Use the table below to explore the totals, and click on the column headers to sort by field.

Collectively, lawmakers received more than $5 million in contributions in the first quarter of the year. The single largest recipient of funds was U.S. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Dallas, who picked up $615,725 in contributions, 42 percent of which came from political action committees registered with the FEC. Behind Hensarling was U.S. Rep. Roger Williams, R-Austin, who received $389,080. At the other end of the financial spectrum was U.S. Rep. Al Green, D-Houston, collecting only $12,400.

Only four representatives reported more than $1 million in the bank, and two broke the $2 million mark. U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, has $2.7 million and Hensarling has $2.3 million. Rounding out the four are U.S. Rep. Ted Poe, R-Humble, and U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas, with $1.4 million and $1 million, respectively.
