Representative Stephen Frost is in his third term as the representative for HD-1. He represents Bowie, Cass, Marion and Morris counties and is the current vice chairman of the House Committee on Public Safety. Frost serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources and is a member of the Texas Rural Caucus.
He cites as his legislative priorities issues dealing with water, economic development, and public education. He has also successfully authored bills protecting homeowners from excessive appraisals, and children from drunk drivers.
He co-authored a bill creating the Texas Rural Entrepreneurship Network and continues to work on legislation affecting teachers, students and parents.
Frost is a graduate of Maud High School and attended Texarkana College. He received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M-Texarkana and earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas - Little Rock in 1997. Frost joined with long-time Atlanta attorney Charles Thompson, forming the law firm of Thompson & Frost.
He has also served as president of the Atlanta Area Rotary Club and the Cass County Bar Association. Frost has also spent time as a volunteer reading instructor with at-risk children, and enjoys skeet shooting, fishing, and local sports.
