Scott Turner is the representative of Texas’ House District 33, first elected in 2012. The district includes all of Rockwall County and portions of Collin County.
He is serving on the Government Transparency & Operation Committee and the International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee. Turner recently made an unsuccessful bid for Speaker of the House.
Turner is a small businessman, national motivational speaker and former NFL player. He currently serves as the Director of Business Development and Corporate Chaplain at Systemware, Inc. and is President of Scott Turner Consulting Group, LLC.
Growing up in Richardson and graduating from JJ Pearce High School, Turner received an athletic/academic scholarship to the University of Illinois. In 1994, he received his degree in Speech Communications and in 1995 he began his nine-year professional football career when he was drafted by the Washington Redskins. He went on to play for the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos. After retiring from the NFL, Turner returned to the Dallas area to pursue his business career. He currently serves as the Director of Business Development and Corporate Chaplain at Systemware, Inc. and is President of Scott Turner Consulting Group, LLC.
Scott and his wife, Robin, live in Frisco with their nephew, Solomon.
