Kenneth Sheets is the representative of Texas’ House District 107, first elected in 2010.
He is serving on the Insurance, the Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence and the Local & Consent Calendars committees.
In 2010, Kenneth Sheets was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives where he has won reelection in 2012 and in 2014. He has served on the House Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee, Insurance Committee, and Local Consent and Calendars Committee. Sheets was named "Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business, Freshman of the Year in 2011 by the Hispanic Republican Conference, Crime Fighter of the Year by the North Texas Crime Commission, Friend of Law Enforcement by the Texas Municipal Police Association, Courageous Defender of Life by Texas Alliance for Life, Rising Star by the Dallas County Republican Party, and was on the Texas Association of Realtors Legislative Honor Roll in 2013.
Rep. Sheets is a partner at the Law Firm of Payne and Blanchard and a major in the United States Marine Corps. Sheets served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2007 to May 2008 in Fallujah and earned a Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
Sheets grew up in Mansfield, Texas with his two brothers and two sisters. He attended Mansfield High School. Following graduation, he joined the Marines. Sheets later attended UT-Arlington and graduated with a degree in Political Science. In 2004, he earned a Juris Doctor from the SMU's Dedman School of Law.
He and his wife, Michele, have two children, Kameron and Brook. The Sheets family are members at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
