Citing Baldness, Gohmert Scraps Presidential Campaign

One thing you can say about East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert is that reporters listen carefully to his every word. But he did not mean it when he said he might form an exploratory committee to run for president.

Analysis: When Right Doesn't Make Might

Republican challenges to sitting Republican speakers of the House could backfire on the renegades — showing them to be far less numerous or politically powerful than they previously appeared. Scott Turner has gained little public support among House members in his bid to unseat Texas House Speaker Joe Straus.
