House Gives Early OK to "Choose Life" License Plate

A bill directing the Department of Motor Vehicles to create an anti-abortion license plate to raise money for crisis pregnancy and adoption services got an early OK from the House on Tuesday — and staved off a flurry of amendments from Democrats.

"Oklahoma has 'Choose Life' license plates. So do 24 other states," said Rep. Larry Phillips, R-Sherman, and the House sponsor of the bill. "I think it's time for us to go ahead and get this legislation passed."

Texas has specialty license plates for a variety of causes, from animal welfare to the outdoors. Republicans want a "Choose Life ...

So, the good folks of Sherman have elected this man and he's stepped up to the plate to legislate license plates and deer meat. Has he NOTHING better to do? I suppose this means everyone in his district has a good paying job? The kids there all have roofs over their heads? Shameful.

Pro life!!! Praise God for a voice that can be translated to messages that may impact a mother to be's heart, maybe even at the last minute - or make her think as she is pondering. Will have one on my car for sure! Its one plate worth paying for. What if your mom's had decided not to have you? You wouldn't be here, nor would your family. May be a touchy subject but its an important one. Murder with a gun, murder by Dr. No difference.

That's about how most "Pro-invade women's privacy" troglodytes would spell it...You know. most women who have HAD abortions are anti-abortion. Calling ones self pro-life is tautological...and absurd. You might need to look that word up (tautological). It's ok, we understand...do you really think that people who support a woman's privacy regarding her health and reproductive issues are "pro-abortion"? Ah, the forced pregnancy crowd at it again...when will this state ever learn...frankly, I don't care if true crisis pregnancy centers are funded, so long as they also are forced to show videos of unruly 3 year olds in a shopping center and spreadsheets showing the cost to raise a child from birth to 18 years of age to women making their legal decisions.

How about "pro-keep thousands of Texas women and children in poverty?" I think that is much more accurate. To make sure we don't give preference to any religious or political groups, I would like to see corresponding "Pro-sex education for Texas teens" and "Pro- accessible contraception for teens" license plate options. What heinous old white men we have elected...
