This must be in their DNA. When I first bought my house, 20 some yrs ago, I thought State Farm had the best brand name so I bought home insurance with them. The first time I tried to file a claim, it actually was related to roof shingles due to high winds. I was kinda shocked when they told me I could fix it myself. I also had my car insurance with them. Needless to say I finally go rid of them for any insurance coverage. It is a big step for anyone to change coverage, especially a homeowners policy which is generally for one year.
State Farm has a huge market share of homeowners in TX.
