Was Federal Ruling Good for Family Planning Providers?
The federal government's rejection this week of a state request to exclude certain providers — namely Planned Parenthood — from the Medicaid Women's Health Program was regarded as a victory by some family planning advocates and a travesty by others.
Sandie Haverlah, an Austin lobbyist for Planned Parenthood, said it's a great outcome because it buys advocates time and forces the state to re-evaluate its stance on trying to force Planned Parenthood out of business. "It means the state is probably considering their position,” she said.
But Fran Hagerty, chief executive of the Women’s Health and Family Planning ...

Women's health and reproductive freedom is a RIGHT!!

I think this free stuff must stop. Parents need to teach there children not have sex until they can support there self. I know the liberals love to spend tax payers money on stuff the person in need should pay for. If they can not afford to pay for it then do not do it. Do you think the tax payer will pay for my beer for me?
Remember a vote for a democrat is a vote for Obama and homosexuals , illegal aliens and terrorist.

Women's management of thier health and reproductive freedom is a right. Killing innocent humans for selfish purposes is NOT.

If the women’s health programs are significantly curtailed, there will be increased costs to local districts from the lack of prenatal care. This is easily predictable. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

One of the ironies of the Republican smaller government less intrusion principles. Legislation will never be able to establish moral or ethical values by law. This is established within society itself outside of the control of the law. As far as I am concerned putting these types of services closer to the people who use them the most is a good idea. Every time a prospective Ghetto baby or any other babydaddy or babymomma baby is aborted it potentially saves millions of $. The raising , feeding, health care, schooling and eventual incarceration of these children is a huge burden , not to mention the fact they will breed themselves and produce even more. Their morality is questionable to begin with so their salvation is probably not of any great concern for them and it is certainly not mine.
I was under the impression everyone will be judged individually and not collectively in the end. It will be their price to pay then, for now part of the price is being paid by me and I am tired of it.

Roe v. Wade confirmed women's rights over their own bodies, but NOT OUT OF MY WALLET. Planned Parenthood (Margaret Sanger) founded to abort as many blacks as possible is certainly free to perform their operations, BUT NOT ON MY MONEY. You want an abortion, that's up to you, but paying for it is also up to you, and not the tax payer.

@John -- the two are not mutually exclusive, as much as you'd like to believe.

@gypsy - you do realize that this has little to nothing to do with "having sex", having babies, or *GASP* as you might try to sell to anyone listening - abortions.
This is about the services that are provided by this system. Things like cancer screenings, OBGYN visits and the like. If we have a healthy society, we have a more productive society.
Sol Hombre
@Tucano - it is illegal to use federal money to fund abortions. Planned Parenthood doesn't do that.

It is nonsense paper shuffling that deludes you into believing PPH doesn't use tax money to fund abortions.
And, of course it's against the Sovereignty of the USA for undocumented foreigners to be in our country criminally, as all illegal aliens are doing, so perhaps it fair to SAY they don't break any laws and ignore the 30 million or so AND the 10 million unemployed Americans out of work - displaced by illegal aliens.
In short just because a law is on the books doesn't mean it's being obeyed.
