Feds Approve One Texas Health Waiver, Reject Another
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has turned down Texas’ request to run a family planning program that excludes certain providers — namely Planned Parenthood — saying it’s a violation of the federal Social Security Act.
But in the same breath, federal officials approved the state’s request for a waiver to expand Texas’ Medicaid managed care program statewide, and to establish funding pools to help providers recoup the costs of uncompensated care.
Gov. Rick Perry called the decisions out of Washington "one step forward" and "two steps back."

The Republican Congress hates Planned Parenthood because they
do not know what they really do..and don't do.. they do NOT
give abortions..but they take care of the mothers health..screen
for Cancer, Diabetes, Heart, etc.. Most are single mothers and if they
don't have early x-rays and tests, if they die the government has
to take care of each and everyone of the children. Let's keep the
mother healthy HHS that is what we need most.

Planned Parenthood is, indeed, an important issue to be recounted in this article, but not to the exclusion of the effect of extended Medicaid managed care throughout Texas, in particular extending it to pharmacy. The reimbursements will be lower than the cost of most drugs. As a result, a pharmacy has to have a liquor store up front to stay in business.

The hypocrisy of the State of Texas is clear when Perry accuses the Obama administration of playing politics on the issue of Planned Parenthood. The GOP/Tparty have lied about the nature of Planned Parenthood and the extent of abortions they provide. REPEATEDLY. Their actions have lead to a belief among Progressives it is nothing more than a trumped up war against women rights in one more desperate misinformation campaign that is nothing more than playing politics with women's health. So, as a christian, I can only say thank you for the prayers, however, considering your vile hate filled comments, lies, and slander; I would respectfully suggest you use some of that prayer time and ask forgiveness for the hate filled rhetoric and vicious lies and slander you repeatedly post here. Though as a Progessive, every time you post your hate filled comments, I am truly gratified. Your comments do a much better job (than I can) in defining the Tparty's hate filled rhetoric as exactly what it is. Lies.
