Texas Democratic Party Settles Green Party Ballot Suit
Buried in the Texas Democratic Party’s campaign filing this week was a $210,000 deposit with a cryptic heading: “confidential litigation settlement.”
Party officials won’t say what it’s for. But sources close to them confirm the settlement is the resolution of the party’s lawsuit over a Republican consultant’s effort in 2010 to get the Green Party on the state ballot.

What were they thinking? The settlement is crumbs. If Texas Democratic Party were smart they’d have gone to court to expose that Republicans will go to any length to achieve their goals, to heck with the law. This reminds me of an armature Dick Nixon scheme who touted, the end justifies the means. So much for the party embracing their rule of law and family values slogans.

These "Democrats" have some nerve calling themselves "democratic." Where's the democracy in filing frivious lawsuits to keep a truly democratic party (the Greens) off the ballot? Real democracies (Germany, Australia, etc) have lots of political parties. Fake democracies have a "two party system" where both parties are run by big business, and they lock out new parties representing working people. That's what we have in the US.
