Rumors of Wentworth's Departure Are Untrue
Sen. Jeff Wentworth, R-San Antonio, says he isn't going anywhere. A hot rumor has him quitting office or giving up his bid for reelection to pursue other ventures, but the senator says there's nothing to it.
He thinks his recent bid for chancellor of the Texas State University System — a job that went instead to Rep. Brian McCall, R-Plano — started the gossip. Wentworth, who was a TSUS regent before running for the Texas House in the late 1980s, came in second.

Glad to hear he's not going anywhere... Sen. Wentworth is one of the last stewards of collegiality, bipartisan collaboration, and independent decision-making in the Texas Legislature. The Senate would be a significantly lesser place without him.

Anyone who says that is just being willfully contrary, or a kneejerk partisan, or has never actually looked at the man's career. Jeff Wentworth is a true public servant and *all* Texans are lucky to have him working for us in Austin.

good news, I can't vote for the guy, but he supports alot of the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance and Aquifer Guardians of Urban Areas pro legislation.
