Davis' Legal Work At Issue in Senate Race
Two years ago, state Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, launched a new law firm with Brian Newby, Republican Gov. Rick Perry’s former chief of staff. Now, with Davis in a hotly contested bid for re-election, her legal practice — and, in particular, her closely held list of government and quasi-public clients — is drawing heat from her Republican opponent, state Rep. Mark Shelton of Fort Worth.
Davis held a hastily called press conference on Friday morning to denounce the content of attack ads she said were being produced by Shelton’s campaign. The scripts for three ads — none of which had ...

The Tribune might want to take a look at the refutation of the claims in Shelton's ad and consider giving equal coverage to the truth instead of these desperate allegations. Davis's campaign released a point by point explanation of the reality behind her business. It can be seen here for anyone interested:

As for the Tribune, your selection of quotes for your Facebook prompt leans a little farther to the right than seems called for here. Some people will only read the prompt, and we've come to expect better, more balanced coverage from the Trib. (My two cents for what they're worth.)

Davis has to go, she is robbing Texans.......
Proud Texan
Shelton is running the Brian Eppstein playbook page by page. Make a bunch of accusations with little or no proof and hope the voters fall for it. This looks just like the "pants on fire" rated attack he orchestrated for Senator Jeff Wentworth's campaign against Donna Campbell. It didn't work then and it won't work now.
The fact that Eppstein's lobby client is the Texas Medical Association and Shelton is a medical doctor who regularly votes on legislation related to medicine might be worth a mention here.

As city council member, Wendy worked tirelessly on DFW transportation issues as Fort Worth rep to North Texas Council of Governments. She and Sen. John Corona worked side by side to develop solutions to our rapidly approaching gridlock. Who better for NTTA to turn to for counsel than Wendy? Shelton's throwing this type of stuff out there is no different than me stating that I heard Shelton was a latent homosexual. There is no truth to it, but the burden is now on them to prove it is not so. Just go compare on their respective websites who is endorsing each of them. Wendy's backers are from a broad cross section of Texas. I, myself, am a Republican.

Wendy Davis is not robbing taxpayers - give me a break! This is extremist talk in a very important race that should be decided on the facts not salacious accusations. Wendy Davis has proven herself to be a dedicated public servant with an Interest in the public knowing the truth about the Texas budget and the games that are being played and the effect it all has on taxpayers and the future leaders of this state.

We need a strong Democratic Party in Texas, but we hurt ourselves by backing a corrupt candidate.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's excellent investigative article by Gordon Dickson exposed the corruption at the North Texas Tollway Authority and Ms. Davis' involvement.
I cannot defend Ms. Davis' arrogant, devious, and dishonest behavior and therefore will not be voting for her again. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

Davis is as crooked as the Trinity River!
