Video: Ted Cruz on "Meet the Press"
Ted Cruz, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, told Meet the Press moderator David Gregory that he's "thrilled with the pick of Paul Ryan" as Mitt Romney's running mate. "I think the biggest Ryan effect is that this race is going to focus on issues. ... If this presidential race focuses on issues — if it focuses on the economy, on President Obama's abysmal economic record — Republicans win. If it's a battle of personalities, Republicans will lose."

If it were based on FACTS, Ted Cruz would be seen as a blowhard.

He had some trouble when it got into defending Ryan's budget vs. Ryan's record. Well-spoken, but beyond the talking points he didn't impress.

Not ready for prime time or being Senator.

Actually, if we talk about the economy, the GOP will lose because the GOP economic policies is what caused the financial meltdown--Bush tax cuts X 2 when taxes should have been increased to pay for two wars, Medicare Rx. program that should have been paid for and wars put on credit card. Obama has tried to improve the economy and put regulations on Wall street. He has tried to end the Bush Tax cuts for the wealthy. Everything Obama has tried to do has met with GOP obstruction and outright LIES. Obama/Biden 2012

Funny, the GOP railed against the stimulus but took the money in private and too credit for it in their states. Perry balanced the 2009 budget with stimulus money. Perry has a slush fund too--taxpayer's money.

And this was the guy the Tea Party supported? Time to look at other choices in that Senate race...John Jay Myers is a good candidate...

Cruz is just another establishment Republican packaged to look like he's anti-establishment. I recently heard Laura Ingram say that there is no substantive difference between Ted Cruz and David Dewhurst , just one is labeled establishment.

Anyone "thrilled" with Rep. Ryan's support of TARP, the bailouts, the un-Patriotic Act, etc., should not be representing the proud and independent citizens of Texas.
John Jay Myers, the Libertarian nominee, will be getting my vote.

In Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives" Draper wrote that during a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.
The Guest List:
Frank Luntz - GOP Minister of Propaganda
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA),
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX),
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX),
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)
Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA),
Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R),
Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R),
Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R),
Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and
Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R).
Non-lawmakers present Newt Gingrich
During the four hour meeting:
Paul Ryan and the other senior GOP members plotted to bring Congress to a standstill regardless how much it would hurt the American Economy by pledging to obstruct and block President Obama on all legislation.
Paul Ryan and these other Republican members of Congress were not simply airing their complaints regarding the other party's political platform for four long hours. No, these Republican Congressional Policymakers, who were elected to do 'the People's work' were literally plotting to sabotage, undermine and destroy the U.S. Economy.

A closer look at the views of the Romney-Ryan ticket reveals the depths of its hostility toward women’s issues:
In 2007, Mitt Romney said he would “delighted” to sign a national ban on abortion, which he described as “wonderful” and terrific.”
Both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have supported radical personhood measures that would ban abortion in all circumstances, as well as outlaw common forms of birth control and in vitro fertilization.
They both also support the Human Life Amendment, which would overturn Roe v. Wade. The Republican National Committee will actually vote tomorrow on including this particular anti-choice measure in the official GOP platform.
Ryan has voted to defund Planned Parenthood and end the Title X family planning program and Mitt Romney has pledge to “get rid of” federal funding for Planned Parenthood and Title X should he be elected president.
Both oppose requiring insurers to offer no-cost birth control coverage and they supported the Blunt Amendment, which would allow your boss to deny you insurance coverage for anything for any reason at all.
Both would repeal the Affordable Care Act (as Ryan has actually voted to do dozens of times)(thirty-three times to be exact) and its numerous benefits for women.
Ryan voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act, while Romney has refused to take positions on these key pieces of equal pay legislation.
BOTTOM LINE: The GOP’s war on women runs far deeper than Todd Akin’s shocking comments. By selecting Paul Ryan as his running mate, Mitt Romney has made clear that he sides with the GOP’s most extreme forces on the social issues important to women and their families.

We must strengthen the federal government by redirecting its time, energy and resources toward those objects for which it bears express constitutional responsibility. Our Government is a government of limited and enumerated powers. The power not delegated to the federal government by the written Constitution is reserved to the states or to the people respectively.
We must stop the trashing of our Constitution by Obama and the Supreme Court and end the Obama's Nazism dictatorship type of Government.

Paul Ryan a good pick? Hardly! Have you seen the guy's voting record?
http://blog.oup.com/2012/08/paul-ryan-randian-neocon/
I'm not surprised, though, for a fellow neocon with corporatist ties like Cruz to give lip service to Ryan.
A much better candidate for the U. S. Senate race is John Jay Myers. He's very honest and uncompromising.
