Tom DeLay Sentenced to Three Years
In what may be a hollow victory for his political opponents, who still must grapple with his skillful redrawing of the state’s political maps in 2003, former U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land, was sentenced Monday to three years in prison.
On Nov. 24, a state court jury found DeLay guilty of money laundering and conspiracy for funneling corporate money to candidates in state races through his political action committee in 2002. Now barring a successful appeal, the former congressman, who represented CD-22 for 22 years until he resigned in 2006, is headed to prison.

Excuse me? Did I hear you say "skillful redrawing"? I must have gone to sleep and awoke in never never land. What eve happened to, gerrymandered, a federal politician interfering with a state issue, where were you state rightist then, are we going to reincarnate him the way some of you tired when Nixon died? Political memory in the U S is as long as my...well you know.

Of course Perry doesn't have to pardon him...he's got Jeff Rose on the court, whom he's appointed to his last two positions...they merely have to remind him how he's gotten his last two jobs...

That Tom DeLay has been found guilty, and "the hammer" is headed to prision is the best news of the week. That his family has sufferred, is sad. Just as it is sad for so many people who go to jail for breaking the law. History will show he should have gone to prision a long time ago, and for much longer. Would I have liked to see him sentenced to much longer. You bet! However, one should not assume we are disappointed. How could we be disapponted to see him discredited and sentenced to prision?
For his actions, I hope he looses everything!
