And after a day in court, most of the confusion and the big questions persist, like whether some elections could be delayed.
The judges left open for now the question of whether any or all of the state's primary elections should be pushed to another date, after hearing testimony from several election administrators about the logistical problems and high costs that would result from split primaries. They instead prepared to sign ...

Texas is broke but Perry and Dewhurst don't give a flip if he Texas taxpayer foots the bill for two primaries. These self serving politicians don't give a hoot, just like they didn't mind laying off 100,000 teachers and staff. But hey, it's okay to give Red McCombs $25 million a year for the next decade and what's wrong with shelling out $400,000.00+ go get TOP CHEF to film here in the Lone Star state? It's timeto send these two con artists a message next year and vote for anyone but Perry and Dewhurst..

If they would have designed the congressional maps in an honest and non corrupt way then Texas would not be in this situation.

Sounds like a Repugnican Teatard plan to steal more votes and throw us back to the Jim Crow days that Texans never got past. Go Eric, enforce the laws!

I'm glad the supreme court is going to decide this matter of the voters being cheated by the democrats to change the maps for there personal gain even after the democrats lost the elections.
The democrat party will try and pull low down dirty under hand dealing to cheat the peoples vote.
We all no Illegal aliens were counted and the democrats are trying to pull a quick one. The 2 rhino judges and 1 democrat judge proves everything I said by trying to cheat the voters will.
Remember a vote for a democrat is a vote for Obama and homosexuals , illegal aliens and terrorist.

Everything related to redistricting so far has been outrageous. This is almost the same SCOTUS that decided Bush v Gore. They showed real ingenuity in finding a one-time legal basis for that decision. They were even more ingenious in creating and then deciding the Citizens United case. They seem prone to the engineering of elections and that takes time to insure adequate safety margins. How will they maintain consistency with these precedents? They could decide to simply cancel this biennial election cycle and leave all of the state senate, state house, and SBOE incumbents in office for two more years. It would be a stretch but they could do the same for the federal offices. They could put the 4 additional Congressional seats up for bid (secret sealed bids, of course) or simply pick responsible corporate representatives. Jack Abramoff is available now so he could be engaged to manage the process.
