Now what? This week, we asked the insiders what Gov. Rick Perry's re-entry into state politics will be like (and, it should be noted, collected these answers just before the governor dropped out of the presidential race).
Almost all of them — 89 percent — said he'll remain in office, finishing a term as governor that's not scheduled to end until January 2015. But two-thirds of the insiders said the governor's power has been diminished.
Specifically, 44 percent said his unsuccessful run will decrease his power over state government. About as many said it would have no effect ...

I hope he quits early.

He is a tool. Check if those who control him powers are "diminished".

Having become apparent that the emperor is a drooling, ranting delusional, whose idea of fun is playing the fiddle while the State of Texas burns, you would still follow his lead? This is what I don't understand, but then again, I'm not writing him big checks and expecting favors in return.

If Rick Perry had agreed to any televised debates, while running for Texas Governor, he never would have been elected.

If only Perry would quit early and spare us any further view of him. But he won't. Not when he can double-dip, spend our taxpayer dollars, and live in a mansion for free. Ethical is not a working word for Perry. Too bad.

Yeah Jim because it doesn't matter what they can actually do just how they debate. Like right now the only thing that matters is who we think can win a debate with Obama, not who can get the country straightened out! For all the whiners you could be doing alot worse,Texas has fared better than most states in the last 3 years! Does all the credit go to Perry..NO but some does and he could have damn sure made it alot worse...like Obama! There is always going to be people that aren't happy in every state just like if you had your choice for Gov. I probably wouldn't be happy. But please don't speak for all Texans we don't all agree with you...debates don't mean anything to me! Talk is cheap!
