In Texas Mayoral Races, Voters Can't Be Bothered
It would be nice if the two largest cities in Texas’ largest metropolitan area were fired up about the June 18 runoffs that will determine their next mayors. But about the only thing voters in Dallas and Fort Worth have been engaged in is a collective yawn.

Kunkle was respected as a police chief by Dallas residents south of I-30, but the fact that his campaign is backed by Laura Miller (who is loathed in that part of town) may swing the election to Rawlings.

Two decent candidates, but Kunkle's focus on basic city services probably matches up better to the statutory role of the Dallas mayor position; probably unwise to hitch a racehorse to a milk wagon.
