Remember those solar panel factories former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Farouk Shami promised? He does.

"I'm a businessman," Shami said. "I keep my word."

The haircare tycoon may have lost his bid for the nomination, but Texas will still be gaining Farouk-funded factories (solar panel and otherwise) in Laredo, El Paso and Brownsville. Today at the Texas Democratic Party State Convention, Shami said those projects are "in the process."
