Capitol Cleared After Bomb Threat

Capitol staffers have been cleared to return to work following a mid-morning bomb threat. Staffers were evacuated at around 11:30 a.m. after Austin Police got a phone call from a pay phone warning them of a bomb threat against the capitol or the capitol complex. All state personnel and the public were told over the loud speaker to evacuate the building immediately. Security guards could be seen walking around the perimeter of the building peering into grates.
